The Industry Network Workshop is a biennial workshop put on by the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Board to help strengthen the network of industry committees that make up the apprenticeship and industry training system in Alberta. The apprenticeship system relies heavily on this network of industry committees which includes Local Apprenticeship Committees (LACs), Provincial Apprenticeship Committees (PACs), and Occupational Committees.
Participants are invited to learn about how they can more effectively lead and contribute to the system. The focus of the workshop this year is leadership, focusing on the importance and impact of good leaders to the system.
The 2007 Industry Network Workshop takes place on October 21 and 22 at the Edmonton Marriott at River Cree Resort. The fifth biennial Industry Network Workshop is expected to be the largest to date, with over 300 guests in attendance.

For the purpose of the 2007 workshop, “leaders” of industry network committees are defined as: presiding officers, alternate presiding officers and anyone who readily volunteers to participate in committee activities.
To register, please complete the Attendance Confirmation Form and fax it to the contact indicated at the bottom of the form.
Space is limited, therefore registrations will be processed on a first-come first-served basis, with a maximum of two representatives per committee accepted. Please notify your committee secretary of your intention to attend the workshop prior to submitting the registration form.
You must be a member of your committee at the time of the workshop in order to participate. If your current term will end prior to the workshop, you must be reappointed in order to attend. Please contact your committee secretary as soon as possible if you are seeking reappointment. Confirmed participants will be sent a preliminary program, a map with directions to the hotel, and related information in late September.
The 2007 Workshop will be held at Edmonton Marriott at River Cree Resort. If you are traveling from outside Edmonton or surrounding areas (e.g. Leduc, Sherwood Park, Fort Sask., Beaumont, St. Albert, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, etc.) and require accommodation on October 21, 2007 please contact the Edmonton Marriott at River Cree Resort directly.

The cost of a single room, or double room (with double occupancy), including tax, for the night of October 21, 2007 will be billed directly to Alberta Advanced Education and Technology. Incidentals, upgrading of a “traditional” room, or any additional nights will be the responsibility of the individual.
The Marriott will extend the conference rate of $109.00 (plus room tax and GST) for three days prior and three days after the workshop for those guests who wish to stay additional nights and assume the charges. A special block of rooms for out of town guests will be held until September 27, 2007 inclusive. Reservations received after that date will be on a space availability basis. Cancellations must be received prior to 4:00 pm. on the day of arrival, or the cost of the room will be billed directly to you.
